Description:
The Sakai CR270, compact ride-on tandem vibratory asphalt roller is designed for pedestrian or bicycle paths, parking lots, driveways, small roads, road widening, patchwork and other small asphalt applications. It offers the features and benefits of our larger rollers in a smaller package, giving paving contractors high performance and versatility at an affordable price.
• Powerful Performance & Heavy-Duty Components – The CR270 boasts the same high frequency 4000 vpm that Sakai’s larger machines are known for, allowing for optimum productivity. This roller achieves ten impacts per foot (10 ipf) at 4.55 mph ground speed, allowing you to reach specified density faster, thus saving time and money. Sakai’s vibratory rollers are engineered from the ground up to produce a true 4000 vpm without compromising the integrity of the machine’s components. A combination of rear drum ballasting and internal front drum vibration, with centrifugal forces up to 2975 pounds, contribute to the CR270’s impressive performance. The roller’s dual-drive drums are powered by hydraulic motors for optimum performance while its hydrostatic transmission simplifies operation while increasing productivity. Sakai’s CR270 offers optimum reliability spray systems like Sakai’s highly successful, more sophisticated, larger double drum rollers. This unsurpassed system consists of rustproof tanks, vinyl tubing, stainless spray bars, and brass nozzles that can simply be replaced by hand with 1/4 turn. Spring-loaded and adjustable scraper bars promote good surface contact and a wet drum from edge to edge. It’s high capacity reservoir keeps the machine on the job throughout the work shift.
• Articulated Center-Point Steering – Articulated center-pivot hydraulic steering ensures that the front and rear drums track each other while providing consistent forces and densities over their full rolling widths, even when the roller is rounding a curve or cul-de-sac. A short wheelbase allows for easy maneuverability and a tight turning radius, especially useful when working in confined areas.
• Heavy-Duty Drum – The CR270 has the thickest drum shell of all of the rollers in its size class, making for a more reliable, longer lasting machine. The alloy steel drum edges are rounded to avoid marking of the asphalt mat. It also has excellent curb clearance, providing flush rolling up to 13.4” above the drum surface. Minimal side overhang and zero head and tail overhangs, combined with a comfortable bucket seat, improve visibility of the drum edge promoting both productivity and quality of the finished product.
• High Safety & Comfort Standards – At Sakai, operator safety is our first priority. ROPS and seat belts are standard equipment on every Sakai roller sold in North America.
The CR270 is equipped with ergonomic vibration controls for ease of use. The roller also includes a throttle lever that allows the operator to fine-tune ground speed during rolling to maintain proper impact spacing.
