Description:
Brand new 4,000 gallon, heavy duty water system mounted on an ex-military 2009 Freightliner M916A3 chassis with only 9,000 miles.
400h.p. Detroit Series 60 diesel, Allison automatic, factory A/C and heat, 6x6 wheel drive, 3 rear sprays, 2 side and 2 front nozzles, hydraulic powered hose reel for hand spraying. The left front nozzle is aimable from the cab. Comes with the large, almost new Michelin 16.00R20 radials as well as the standard 425/65R22.5 tires.
These trucks are built by a company in the Los Angeles area who owns a contract water spraying company. They have 20+ of these trucks they built to their own specifications because they could not find what they needed from other suppliers. They run these trucks 8-10 hours per days spraying water, year round. Everything is built heavy duty for high hour usage.
All of the piping is bent in house and uses no rubber connections. Most water trucks have rubber lines for connections because it takes more effort and cost to line everything up where straight pipes will work. This truck uses no rubber hoses for connections.
The controls include individual on/off air switches for each nozzle and 3 pump pressure levers, one for front, middle and rear. This allows the engine to remain at high RPMs while feathering the amount of water being sprayed from each bank. The factory PTO is replaced with a unit matching the demands of the pump. The tank also has a gravity dump valve in the rear.
They also build a rear push block should you need to push if stuck. They also add a front axle disconnect so the full time 6 wheel drive is able to be selectable
